The "black" version of these has now been added to the club store, both black and clear in stock ready to go: http://www.deloreanclub.uk/stainless-br ... hoses.html

They do look very nice in black 8-)

Guys,

I have a stupid question. Can someone tell me what the fark I have missed here?

Have just fitted a new fuel filter, and planned to fit the replacement supply line 102365.

(Stainless lines lovely by the way Julian, really top notch. )

However the oem banjo bolt which goes into the top of the filter has a shoulder on it

So when the bolt is put into the new banjo, it doesn't go all the way home. This is it sitting on the shoulder, and you can see that the copper washer won't seal in this situation.

The oem bolt in the oem line goes all the way home.

Anyone else encountered this or am I a twat again?

Or did you just buy a new banjo bolt to suit, which I think would solve my problem?

Cheers for any info,

Andy

Andy, the fuel lines going to the fuel filter on my car are hard lines, the fuel hose kit available through the club is for the engine bay only, at least mine was??? But saying that we are talking about a Delorean here.!!! You have a couple of options, send the bolt to me and I can machine the shoulder off the Banjo bolt or pack the shoulder out with more copper washers???? Either of these options would work safely and fine, but Ideally not right.

change of heart on my last post, as I'm at work and not quite sure, but I've ringed the picture below where I think the fuel line that goes to the fuel filter is, the banjo end goes to the metering head???

Andy, you have the line the wrong way around. The banjo end goes at the engine end. On the end of your original Delorean line the banjo un-screws off the female union & then in turn screws onto the new line. That male-male fitting that Jason has circled is NOT part of the kit & should NOT be there. The banjo you remove fits in there, hope that makes sense?

A ha!

Thank you guys, now I get it.

Yes, Jason, I mean the line between the filter and the metering head. The flexi (102365).

Thanks for the offer of machining, much appreciated, but not necessary.

I may have twigged that it was the wrong way round had I removed the OEM line. As it was, I was just sizing things up (to make sure they fitted etc) before fitting to the car. I presumed the new banjo end would replace the old banjo end, and did not know the old OEM banjo was to be removed (I hadn't twigged it was on a union)...

Julian, thanks. Yes, perfect sense. I am at work just now, but am pretty sure the circled male-male union was on my line (just loosely fitted, not nipped up). Will confirm when I get home.

This was what threw me.

Thanks a lot for the help guys, maybe this will help others down the line, or perhaps serve as a reminder to forget inclusion ( :? ) of the male-male union in the kit

I just fitted the new filter with on to the old lines as I want to get the car mobile again for now.

VOD in the spring (or maybe over winter) so I will fit the new lines then.

Thanks guys for the help, very much appreciated,

a
