It appears that the car could not be saved or restored without more money being spent than it was worth

Isn't that true for most classics?

I take it that this car has been parted out, not that they have stripped it all to refurbish and reassemble?

Thinking that myself, hate seeing them parted out. But if you are in for the money, it makes sense I suppose.
