Pricy but looks like the correct variant

Isn't this the B280E engine with th LH-jetronic? I'm not an expert, but is looking for an engine myself (mine's broken). And I've found a lot of Volvo 760's, but I thought they all had the B280 engine. Am I wrong? Is it an easy swap with this kind of engine?

Looking for a B27F myself. To get the K-jetronic.

I've had a quick look on the engine picture on ebay, and using ebay's magnifying facility it looks to me like a B28e with a K-jetronic, you can see the ram horns on the front, and if you look closer the metering head, and the ECU module on the drivers side inner wing.

It's definitely the right one, B28Es were still in 760s until C-reg / 1986, and this is the year earlier - the same year that mine came from.

That isn't a B280 - it's a B28E - and it's the one you want: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1483

The engine is slightly different - lower crankcase / sump/ k jet fuel manifold and some of the plumbing - to swap it you have to keep your original sandwich plate. But it's the same if you're using a B27E/B27F engine from a Volvo, except the B27 engine is a smaller engine. The DeLorean engine is the B28 engine.

I noticed in the text that it has a LPG conversion, why would you bother, anyway hopefully you can rip that off and bin it and use the engine.

Petrol = 110 a litre
LPG = 55 a litre with a discount card from 1-10 off every 10 fills
I know what I would be running it on

That's not quite apples with apples as you don't get the same mpg with lpg and with the cost of having it fitted in the first place you've got to do a lot of miles to claw that back

Incidently I noticed the that the price dropped to £1100 and now it's £1000

Just needs to drop another £600 and then it's worth grabbing.

LPG mileage is about 15-20 % less and if the kit is already on away you go?

If you do decent miles you soon pay for it even if you bought the kit yourself, especially in a 4x4 which isn't efficient on petrol
