Just a quick hello,

I've been lurking on the forum for a little while and decided I'd get round to saying hello properly.

I've decided that as my 40th Birthday is approaching far too rapidly thats its time to treat myself and buy that 'D' I've been hankering after for what seems like forever!

Fingers crossed if all goes well 17152, which is currently being fettled by the expert hands of Martin from delorean.co.uk will be mine towards the end of March.

She'll then be making a trip over the wet bit to take up residence on the Isle of Man for I'm sure many a happy lap of the TT circuit.

Once Martins done and I have my grubby little hands on her I'll post some pics in her new home :D

Wow! Well you've got the right D for the Isle of Man then! Glad to hear it's going to a "good home" and enjoy! :D

Hi Manx

Welcome and well done on the purchase!

I did help getting that car back on its chassis a while ago!! you have a nice galvanised and powdercoated chassis on that car, and I think its the only Canadian spec car in the UK and maybe even Europe.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks.

Just after I started talking to Martin about 17152 he sent me a link to a lot of photos taken of the chassis and engine work as it progressed. The level and attention to detail of the work done to the car is what attracted me to it, the more I heard the better it sounded.

Martins doing a fair amount of work on her at the moment, then she's due to go to Chris at PJ Gradys for a rebrush and a quick independent once over. Hopefully that will be all done and dusted in March and I can hand over the readies to Martin and start playing :D

I'm afraid I'm very green when it comes to all things stainless, I'll take a dig around the forum now but.... whats the difference between US/Canadian/Europe cars?

It has a nice exhaust too!

I think that there were only ever 50-100 cars in Canadian spec, the only difference AFAIK is a metric instrument cluster, and a little badge near the vin plate about radio interference or something, and possibly some different engine bay stickers.

There is a Canadian forum.... I am sure they would love to hear about your car, they may be able to shed some more light etc.

All Canadian spec cars recorded are in high vin range too, although yours is 17152 its original vin was 12152 before it was revinned, which there was a photo of that number written in marker pen on the rear crossmember, taken at the time when the rear fascia was removed to begin the strip down, Martin or Rob may have it.

The revinning process is best explained here

This is an excellent resource run by club member Shannon Birdwell and explains quite a bit!
