Just been talking about this exact thing on FB (as you know Mike). I'm feeling i'm gonna have to bite the bullet on this one, maybe next year. I've been suspicious of a bit of an exhaust leak for years, although more recently, it seems to have sealed itself again, but maybe after Eurofest, it'll be showing signs of blowing a bit again. My train of thought is, that these studs will have to come out sooner or later, but the later you leave it, the more corroded they'll become, making life harder....?! So, instead of waiting until i've got a stainless exhaust to fit, because i've got the excuse of new exhaust rubber mounts to fit, I might aim for removing my exhaust next year and renew all the fixings and keep them clean and fresh for as long as it takes before I get that stainless exhaust kit. I was fearing doing this job because people were being insistent that you have to pull the engine of remove the heads. Now i see that's not true. So, although still nerve racking, I think i've got more persuasion to get on with it now.
Great piccies, thanks! I guess i should get armed with a similar jig for the job....?
