DeLorean Identifies in Hadleigh Suffolk

Postby jamesrguk » Sat May 01, 2010 7:54 pm

Hi All,

I wasn't going crazy it was a DeLorean I spotted a few months back driving past my shop in Hadleigh, Suffolk.
Today by chance I finaly caught up with the owner, he bought some wine left it in the store as he went to collect his 'car' and you guessed it, he pulled up in a DeLorean.

He's not on the forum or a member of any clubs etc..l. but he's had the car for about a year

    Grey Interior
Remote door launchers (which he didn't realise were aftermarket)
    Manual
    Flat hood with no flap
    Vin 16369 on a 'B' registration!

He purchased it about a year ago, does anyone know anything about this car? he seems like a real nice chap and he sounded keen on getting involved with the DeLorean Eurotec meet up.

small world eh!.

You Essex boys love your DeLoreans!

The car used to be on the plate "DEL 4L" in black and silver.

I think Martin might know this car, I could be wrong but he used to rant on about ' John Hanley's suspension ' being so good.

Seems this car was destined for Essex - it's the one I tested a couple of years ago when it was for sale in Kent! And yes, Martin G commented to me about its good handling.

...although apprently not so good at motorway speeds  It drove really nicely on the twisties around the workshop and braked in a straight line - which is unusual for a car on original suspension bushes. It was looked after by Don Steger in the US. The door launchers work really well and I've done the same solenoid-based setup ever since. It's totally different from the DPNW system.

I did the clutch on it among other things. I can forward a copy of the work I did if he wants it.
