Font end recall kit why?

Postby RobvdVeer » Sun May 30, 2010 2:10 pm

My D is lacking the front end recall plates.. Never worried me though. What would be the benefits of installing them vs costs?

Hi Rob

I think its strengthens the mounts for the anti-roll bar.

This explains more.

The anti-roll bar transfers all the drag of the lower control arm to the frame extension. The FE is made from pretty thin steel by design and the force from the ARB tranlates to a "forward moment" being applied to the tip of the "cone". In other words, it tries to rotate it. The strengthening bracket increases the distance from the centre of the moment over which the force is applied.
