Made a jig and drilled the shaft for the split pins and fitted the joint.

Very good fit, much tighter in the lower arm than the DMCH.

As Phil says theres' no problem with a split pin hole weakening the hold as its above the main part of the nut.

Cant remember exacty but somewhere around 5/8"

They're 1/2" UNF Dan, just checked the spare stainless nylocks in my shed.
