New to EuroTec, but not to Deloreans!

Postby bigglesdmc » Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:13 am

Hi - I'm new to EuroTec, but certainly not new to Deloreans! I sold my 'Explodaview' car about 4 years ago, having completed the exploded view wallchart. That was an exercise that introduced me to many new friends in the Delorean community and I have certainly missed being part of the scene. I was lucky enough recently to have a low offer accepted for an '82, 2 owner, 20,000 mile car that appears to be rust free and in very good condition. We'll soon see as it arrives from Miami on Friday week - can't wait! I'll post some more pictures when it gets here. By the way we live up near the Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire, and there's always a friendly welcome to anyone with a 'D' Regards, Andy and Nicky

Hi Andy - good to see you on here. I spend about half of every day looking at your old car (I can't be the only one!). Are you planning on "going to town" on this one as well then?

Also - have you heard any news on your old car or its owner? 8-)

I don't plan to do a total chassis up restoration this time - I plan to use and enjoy the car! It will need the front and rear fascias repainted and the binnacle repaired, but other than running repairs and improvements I'm really hoping I can get it on the road in a few weeks time. As for my Explodaview car I've heard very little - I hope the new owners enjoying it to the full!

Thanks for the welcome guys! I have a plan to get my new Delorean stripped, restored and running in 6 weeks - we'll see! At least when I saw it at the docks yesterday it started first time and is rust free. So I hope this will be a fairly simple cosmetic restoration to get the old girl back to former glory. My plan is to keep this car for good so it's going to be done nearly as well as the Explodaview car but without the body off approach. Guess what I'm doing this weekend! See you soon, and do remember that you are all welcome to pop in to our new house near to the Castle Combe race circuit if you are over this way. You can camp here if you want! Just get in touch anytime. Andy and Nicky
