Cruise Control

Postby dannyj75 » Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:50 pm

I am considering fitting an aftermarket Cruise control to fit to my d.
Has anyone got advice on which kit is best and where to buy?
has anyone fitted one before?
has anyone removed a working kit that they would consider selling?
Any advice is always well received :)

I'd advise that you check with your insurer first to see if this modification is covered before adding devices like this. ...
You'd be lucky if they do cover you and if they do will load the premium accordingly.

Good luck :)

I know Cyril in France has a system set up - pics are on here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1725&p=21645#p21645

From memory I think also Starglider is putting it into his car (work in progress).

I have the Audiovox CCS-100 as discussed in this DMC Talk thread; http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?9294-Cruise-control&highlight=cruise+control

I don't have the stalk, but have the default electronic controller fitted to the drivers side knee-pad (In a non-destructive way, so don't worry!). Had some minor issues with it since the previous owner placed it too close to some of the warmer engine parts and the unit prematurely failed, but was able to replace the broken components and now it's going strong once again.

As for insurance, it was declared when I imported and initially insured my car so didn't cost me anything extra.

I installed the Audiovox CCS-100 using this guide. However since my DMC-12 isn't drivable yet I haven't actually tested it.
