Belfast Telegraph - John DeLorean Article

Postby DMCNI » Fri Nov 21, 2014 8:10 pm

The following article appeared in todays edition of the Belfast Telegraph. As with most DeLorean articles there are a few inaccuracies such as only 6500 cars were made, it was to sell for $9000.00, the firm collapsed in the 1970's yet mentions later in the article the Government let it collapse in 1982. It also mentions only 1600 cars reached dealerships...is this true? Any way enough rambling just get reading :)

Some of what was written still rings true today. I personally think JZD put himself in an untenable situation. He had to promise huge output to need 2,000+ employees in order to attract the UK government to invest (or any government in all likelihood) but it really was very wishful thinking to believe 20,000 or more cars could be sold at such a high price. Just my opinion
