I'm no longer alone!

Postby Manxmann » Sun Nov 23, 2014 7:42 pm

Well it seems the Isle of Man is to get a new Motor Museum curtesy of the Cunningham collection (http://www.cunninghamclassiccars.co.uk/car/delorean-dmc-12/), odd choice of venue but hey. Anyway the thing that is of most interest is SIJ 1083 an 82/83 flat hood RHD Delorean.

I've not seen the car close up yet myself, being held in storage waiting the completion of the new museum building so don't have any idea of the vin. Does anyone know anything about this car? It has the 'truck' rear end light treatment of some Euro spec cars but other than that nothing stands out other than the wheel being on the wrong side.

It was a car Chris P and Dave H brought from some museum in the late nineties I believe. Darren Cunningham brought it, think he was around N London. I drove the car at some point before Darren brought it.

Cheers, one of the local ricer crowd went up to see the collection today reporting back about this special prototype RHD Delorean still on its original tyres.

Given the 'special' nature of the 13 'official' RHD cars I was surprised that I couldn't find any reference to the car, either here or on the 'other' site. Made me wonder if the info the young lad was fed was real?

SIJ 1083 is VIN#12180 ...

By the way, weren't there only 12 original RHD's by WH?

Good Grief. 1999 that is. The day that changed some of our lives forever. POS 69W (none Wooler Hodec RHD conversion) VIN 6986 was the reg of the car behind in the photo https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ shows it is still on the road. Photo was taken at a garage near Dave Howarth's and SIJ pictured wouldn't start initially after filling up. Dave let us take two of his cars out for a run (as you do)....

This guy bought PSO from Dave was: http://www.blakeofficial.com/biography/stephen-bowman/ his real name is Stephen Stryzek (not sure I've spelt it correct) and then he sold it to Richard Overall (not sure if he still has it)
