If there's something strange with your time machine,
who you gonna call? Nick Admin
If there's something weird with your car and it doesnt look good
Who you gonna call ?Nick Admin
:D :D :D

Thanks so much to Admin for his help this weekend, with my poorly car. He truly is a delorean legend.
(I just need him to move next door now :-) )

The club has a great asset with this delorean genius, Look forward to the next Yorkshire meet up.

Hello Mike, thank you.

I'm typing this list for reference for next time soon:

Replaced relay on firewall that bypasses a ballast resistor when cranking as it had a high resistance on the contactor which caused too much of a voltage drop at the coil causing unreliable sparking)
Main fuel pressure 5.2 bar
Control pressure (CPR) works correct to temperature & Vac pull down enrichment
Vacuum pipes correct and thermo vac switch operates fine including vac advance distributor solenoid
Fuel pressure held for 15 minutes on engine shutdown (accumulator and check valve deemed ok, but ideally longer time for rear pressure)
Ignition timing correct
Cold start valve ok
Frequency valve not buzzing, removed oxygen sensor input and traced to poor relay connection on the lambda relay socket. (Lambda relay correct type and works fine)
Reset fuel mixture based on above fault so it runs

Note to self to do for next time:

Replace distributor cap and ht leads (suspect tracking)
Check ignition coil Q reactivity
Check idle system back to back
bad fusebox (could be cause of above symptoms)
Fit missing relay in a/c panel and test circuit
Pressure test injectors if mot emissions indicate high Hydrocarbon results)

I enjoyed the 2 hour playtime, we'll try and make it longer next time to iron out "future" potential issues

Thanks to Nick again for a last min Yorkshire tech session yesterday.

I am hoping that the car is back to normal now and I can enjoy it again.

The cause of my problem seemed to be a knackered rotar arm which stopped the sparks getting to the plugs.

For reference:
Feb 2017,
new spark plugs
new distributor cap
new ht leads
Brand new rotar arm
Changed 6 O rings after taking off intake manifold

Fingers crossed for issue free motoring for a bit.

Well have to do that for sure !

Mike (not Mec), don't forget to add handbrake adjustment, left hand rear wheel needed half turn on adjuster and right rear wheel needed cable tension adjusted.

Back to looking after Mrs T broken ankle...
