Gary Dunster - master of eyebrows?

Postby Spudmurphy » Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:46 am

I've read that Gary is (amongst other things) master of the eyebrow?

My front fascia is off, the lights removed and tbh my facia, although needing refinishing, has a very slight eyebrow problem (very slight!).
As I've got this far removing the components, It would make sense to do this eyebrow fix and prevent it happening after refinishing them.

Rather then use metal which of course absorbs heat, I was thinking along the lines of carbon fibre?

Anyways, as I see it, the process is:-
cut reinforcing material (metal /carbon fibre/unobtanium)
Warm up facia
Bond reinforcement in with wurth bond (I have some left over from the roof box fix)
Clamp
leave overnight?

Happy to receive guidance from Gary?
(I don't want to get it all fixed then find I can't get the sodding headlights back in!)

Yeah as you're heating (gently) the bumper clamp two bits of wood top and bottom at the plastic warms tighten down on the clamps. Then bond some alu inside the bumper.

So, after research on the net, it seems strips of Ali is the way to go.
Between 15 - 18 " X 3/4" x 1/8".

I'll try and source some - may drill a few holes in it too, to help the bond.

will take photos as I do it.
