Hi guys - just been told of this club by another member " spud Murphy ( Kevin ) " - nearly perchased a D about 8 years ago but a new build put pay to that but now I'm in a position to finally get my hands on a nice clean example - but not a lot around - looking at between 25 to 30k - should I import ? eBay ?? Pj Grady??? Any info would be much appreciated - Dave

There's the odd car that comes up at that level already in the UK but you might have to be patient, and when it does it might not fit the bill for exactly what you're after.

You'll have a better chance of finding something if you import yourself, but be prepared to spend plenty of time and £ on the process! There's plenty of information on the forum around the process of importing if that's the route you choose to go down. The least risky path IMO would be to scan the cars for sale on dmctalk and buy a member's car that's been cared for and you'll get a comprehensive history on, rather than picking up something random off eBay or BHCC.

Welcome Dave, and good luck in your search.

Importing is an option but with the exchange rate the way it is at the moment with what you spend on a decent car over there, you could spend on a car that is already in the UK.

Whatever car you end up buying, make sure to get plenty of detailed pictures of it, especially of the chassis, and full history of what parts have been replaced on it (if any), this will allow you to budget accordingly for items that will most likely need to be replaced to ensure reliability.

Thanks guys
I know it's been mentioned on another post but I'm a little confused ( easy for me ) regarding the D in Dublin - €30000 - £27500 approx - anyone got any further details on it - it's in the Irish donedeal ( Irish EBay ) - sure I read it was once up for 40k ??? Also maybe auctioned too - as I live only a couple of miles from the port of Pembroke ( wettest Wales ) so Dublin would not be a massive problem and I have a mate that lives over the water.

My view, and I could be wrong is that it's a fraud attempt. The photos are of two different cars. The hood badge suddenly appears halfway through the six exterior shots of the car. Two different cars in my opinion. Be careful!
