Rear hand brake pads - ferodo

Postby Dave M » Sun Nov 26, 2017 9:12 pm

Stuart Rees and myself changed the hand brake pads about a month ago as we preparing the car for the MOT but noticed with the handbrake up fully and pulling away in 1st gear with engine on tick over the car the handbrake just was not holding at all so last week I bought some tapered ferodo ones ( £38:00 ) and fitted them today - haven’t had chance to really test them as half way through the job it poured down with rain but looking at the ones ( see pic ) that we took out surely they are going to be far better - I will let you know how it goes.

This video explains it better: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=5707 - and Darren's post (unfortunately no longer with photos) fully explains it: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=4125

These are your options: https://www.deloreango.com/uk/catalogse ... /?q=109037
Essentially - either use the Ferodo ones, or the cheaper option is chamfer down the other type at a slight angle to match the taper using a bit of sandpaper.
