The Dreaded X

Postby jerzybondov » Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:34 pm

AAAaaagh! For the first time just now I've seen the dreaded X on my hood... You can't really see it from down at ground level but out of my window at the office there it is as clear as day!

I've had my car cover in the boot but surely that shouldn't have made it worse? It's basically just folded material that gets squished EVER SO SLIGHTLY by the bonnet as it shuts... Anyway, I've taken it out on the chance that it is.

Perhaps that X was always there, but I have seen the car from above before and not noticed it... There isn't anything you can do to get rid of it either is there? Apart from have Chris N spend about 3 weeks brushing it...

I agree... just dont look down on it like that again :)

Try not to apply any pressure when cleaning the bonnet ...in the future ....

So do you think pressing down on the bonnet is more of a problem than things inside the boot pushing up gently on the plastic underside?

i think there has been a number of posts on the other site about the x and if i remember pj gradeys have worked on a way to get rid of it.But everyone seem to think that it happens over a 20 years or so due to the cleaning of the hood.so answer me this i was watching bttf part one the other day (i know sad tw*t) but i did notice a x on the hood of that car that at the time of makeing the film was prob 3 or 4 years old if that.so was this a problem from the off.
oh and tone my x is bigger than yours you cock.

No offence Tyson, but I've always thought yours was the biggest X. I'm beginning to think the "EuroTec X Factor 2009" was rigged.
I mean - I know I pocketed about £5000 from the phone votes, but I just thought that was normal :?

I don't know what the fuss is about, you can only just see it if you squint hard enough......
