It’s possible there was an anomaly when the car was first registered in the UK in 2005,

There are a couple of DeLoreans on. A plates and one on C plate

What does it show the date of manufacture as on V5?

Date of first registration: 01/01/1981
Date of first registration in UK: 26/08/2005
Cylinder Capacity: 2000cc...lol

Also on the front of the V5C it has a special notes section which reads:

"Was registered/used overseas. Declared manufactured 1981".

I'd love to contact the Speakmans and offer them some £ for the B4KTO if I knew for sure that I could put it back on that plate. I asked the DVLA but they gave me the default answer of "cant make a car look newer than it is" and when I asked about the B reg it had been using they didn't know how that happened :/

Mmm very strange

Can’t figure out how they managed to do it

You could buy a BAK plate - still pricey but at least it fits.

1452 or 1453 ?

Out of curiosity, why?

1452...the need for clarification has me worried....lol

.

Just that 1453 is also supposedly in the UK but hasn't been seen for years. But that info may be incorrect. With all the cars "looking the same", the VIN becomes the way of knowing which car is which

Was it definitely B4 KTO & not 84 KTO that they just made 8 look like a B on the plate

As above - there are a few still rolling around on B and C plates, but that will just be an anomaly that DVLA would never admit to or replicate I would think. I know of a few recent ones that needed say an "X" reg for example, that had to fight for, letters etc. I can't see a B reg being easy to get in this day and age.

Ok, I think I've found a copy of the old BBC production I made with the Speakmans with your Delorean in on VHS!
Just need to dust off the old telly & VCR & I'll see if it'll still play 8-)
