Seems to be an error on the MOT system.

"AH" as in PAH is the old DVLA area code for Norwich 8-)

The fact it wasn’t registered until Aug 89 is interesting

Ok that sorts that then

It could be one of the unregistered Vins on that list sold in 1980 and then subsequently registered by its new owner in August?

Do you have any information on the previous owners? When first registered?

Can you keep May 2021 clear to bring it to Eurofest and to the factory?

Providing it’s not the end of May then yes, or Chris would be welcome to take it over. I’ll ask Mike Kimberley if he knows anything if the AH is Norwich then. No info with the car unfortunately as two owners back the keeper died and the widow wasn’t pressed for the paperwork, apparently there was a file with it but not located.

Trevor.

For those with ChrisP's book, on page 65 there are three photos of the Alpines.

Two are of a bluey/silver one, DNG842T, at a workshop, presumably in Norwich

The other is B&W photo of one with a NI plate - NIA 8794, location unknown

Following on from Al saying AH is a Norwich reg, I found the original plates that came with the car and suggests to me this is possibly the car referee to as going to Lotus for emission testing.
