Engine stops while driving

Hello All
Engine started misfiring occasionally while driving but only In right hand corners or roundabouts ? Then took it out and it would lose power completely for 2-3 seconds and recover and repeated so managed to limp home. Would not hot start - sensor plate has resistance so not accumulator. Out of Mot so only started and idled on drive .Hot starts but not all the time. Took to mot ,had to be pushed off hoist but started 10 mins later for brakes and emissions -CO2 0.04%
Very low! Engine cut out when tester parked and 5-6 hot start attempts before I drove 200 yards and engine died totally in traffic intersection no start for 10 min then 200yards home.Numerous unconnected plugs and wires in front left engine bay and ECU lead out of bulkhead is not connected -to o2 sensor. Am I open loop, too lean and causing the problem? Need to buy new trolley jack tomorrow to access underneath. Nick set the system up so it should be perfect.
Advice appreciated Chris

Check the electrical connections to the ballast resistor and ignition coil, make sure the connections are clean and tight.

Thanks Mike Have pulled off all spade and other connections checked and replaced but nothing badly corroded and cold start is fine ( after finding dodgy thermotime switch plug connection ) Don't know how to post photos? But ECU lead seems to be one of the culprits but will get under tomorrow to trace Lambda O2 lead and reconnect.

photos - see below.

Roundabout cutout - this is quite often a collapsing fuel pump pickup hose (in the tank) - a spring down it to stop it collapsing sorts this if so. But if it is electrical - have you done basic things like wires, cap and rotor arm?

Last few photos are unconnected ECA lead into back bulkhead and previous show carbon cannister lead to? Engine fume system.

Thanks Arran Had considered pick up pipe collapse as long idle periods preceded the problem. I really do not want to go into the tank until other explanations are not feasible but if I must I must move fast as I wish to go to Hamburg on Wed

I have experienced stumbling on pulling out of right hand junctions when the tank was about 1/3 full or below. Was due to a hole half way down the pick up hose pulling in air as fuel sloshed away from the pipe.

Worth checking....

Thanks Andy! Sounds an encouraging lead. Due MOT retest tomorrow so difficult to road test as can't risk breaking down. Do I need to disconnect fuel lines from pump to withdraw baffle?
