Only if you have a reg date of 1st to 7th Jan.

I think the dvla are assuming that because it was registered that early in Jan, then the car must have been made in 1980... They are too stupid to realize that its only registered that early because they are too stupid to accept a stamped vin plate as evidence of when it was actually made.

As Dan has succeeded ( well done ) that could be argued as ‘ de facto ‘ and anyone with vin at least earlier than his would have a good case

If they start taking notice of vins then by rights they should say mine isn't allowed either.

The DVLA also completely ignored my question about why my car is registered on the 10/01 and that it was a typo and should be 01/01.

It really is 'computer says no' isn't it? There's not a single brain cell between them.
