Did you go direct to the DVLA without going through the post office?

Think I read that you needed to take your V5 to the post office for them to process the historic vehicle tax application.
I'll be there first thing tomorrow!

Freaky do you really need

the log book (V5C) in your name
your vehicle tax reminder letter (V11), if you have one ( I assume V5 negates need for this.)
an MOT certificate that’s valid when the tax starts, or evidence if your vehicle’s exempt from an MOT (V112) ( I assume V5 negates need for this.)
an insurance certificate or cover note (only in Northern Ireland) ( so we dont need insurance cert in the England)

Mine isnt MOT'd as its still in bits..

There is only one thing in life worse than not owning a DeLorean.
Owning one which is not running...

From the list stated here https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles/ap ... -exemption you need only two items:
Your V5C
A completed V112 - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... om-mot.pdf

I believe you still can’t apply until the start of the new tax year. So April 6th.

I've just been to the post office and they can't do mine. Apparently when they scan the barcode on the V5 it comes up with options on their screen to choose from, usually including 'historic' but no such option is available for my car
