Car Magazine review of the DeLorean

Surprisingly positive this one - and I’d have to say that I agree - a well set up D is actually pretty good compared to other crap of the era.

I used to collect old car magazines from 1970's and 80's that featured the DeLorean and when you read through them you actually find that many of the reviews at the time, by respected auto magazines such as Car & Driver for example, were actually pretty positive.

Here’s the full article. It’s pretty spot on, with the criticisms too!

Interesting re date of publication (April 1982, feature prob written Feb 1982). Weren’t the liquidators already hovering then or not quite?

Also how many actual euro engined cars did DMC make? Wasn’t many was it - I thought 2? One defo manual and this article suggests one auto too.

It’s also been determined the one car thought to have been euro version engine subsequently wasn’t - it had just been registered incorrectly.

Another supposed euro spec car also left the factory in US form and was subsequently modified for what is assumed to be registration purposes.

Have you checked out the link Gez?

One of the cars vins has been determined as 2756 subsequently crushed in Iraq after being looted during the Iraqi invasion.
