Finally got round to sending my chassis

Is this just an age thing (rust) or if they have not been looked after very well? I was told the epoxy works well.

A bit of both really. Even the best kept DeLoreans are starting to pick up rust here and there - not enough to need one of these restorations, but the sooner it's done, the sooner you can sit back safe in the knowledge that nothing on the car will fail due to rust for at least the next 25 years.

My new car (arriving today - yay!) has a rotten chassis but is otherwise absolutely mint. I'm really looking forward to doing a full frame restoration (and everything that attaches to it).

Well we got the price sorted out with Prostrip, so hopefully we'll get the chassis back soon to get stuck into the work!

The purple one is in better nick chassis-wise, other than being painted. Still for sale and asking $9k AFAIK.

The painted ones come with provenance - they were painted at the DeLorean Cadillac dealership, so it's not hiding any damage.
