DeLorean.com - testing RHD "new build" cars

From their Facebook page - Parking lot test driving the rolling chassis of the RHD currently in the build process. They hope to offer this on a wider scale in 2010.......:

Cool!

I bet they haven't managed to do the brake and clutch masters in the exact mirror.

We have.

I can well believe that. I would guess that there are a lot of people/experience/parts required right here in the UK to do a good RHD over here. It's a shame all the Wooler-Hodec cars were (mainly) based on the cars that "failed as left hand drives"

Also if they think it'll be easy to sell new build cars of any flavour over here they've got a nasty surprise in store. (Edit: Assuming Japan and/or Australia isn't the target...)

Wrong hand drive is mechanically fairly simple - the pedal box is really the only tough bit as far as getting a working tester like that.

I would hazard that they uncovered some original Wooller Hodec components - not that that is any guarantee of respectibility!

Not the UK - no. The "story" I heard was Japan, as you say.

I would guess that the "hand built" nature of the LHD cars they are producing means that the cost differences in RHD and LHD is probably fairly minimal, and probably not too much "risk".

From looking at it again - I think it's an auto. Much easier on the pedal linkage

I agree that the Japanese market would be a very good one to target.

Perhaps even more of an iconic car there than in the UK ?
