I'd rather not.... $$$$ that won't translate to the value of the car compared to what's added with a galvanised and powdercoated original

Congrats to a lot of work, Martin :)
A mild steel frame will probably not only be cheaper, but also will better withstand the burden of flexing.
I'm not convinced a SS frame will last that long due to strain.

Thanks for clearing that up Welmoed. I had always wondered why people said stainless frames were bad - now I know!, and makes total sense.

The materialistic weasel in me realised some time ago that stainless chassis shipped specially from the states would not add enough value to a car in the UK to make it worthwhile (at this point in time, this stuff is putting me through university). And on the flip side a galvanised chassis is likely to out-live anyone who buys it so what's the point?

As far as I know nobody has found any damage in one of Pearce's frames *yet* and i did ask after the -4C brittleness problems they found back in 1979-80 - apparently modern techniques render them irrelevant. The frame was orignally designed to be stainless.

Looks like Aaron's chassis in Ireland which he repaired and galvanised a few years back.

I hear my mom shouting from 50Km's away: "CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM".

And oh yes, that redone frame looks like some contraption stolen from the Star Wars movie set. Please do no use flash photography or you will be blinded.
