Gutted Or What

For anything else not specifically DeLorean related....

Ah the Forrestal, I remember reading about that - quite a string of errors came together there to cause that iirc.

Yes it is strange that the owner seemingly wasnt prepared to tackle the fire but I dont know the full circumstances.

In saying that, I'm not sure how prepared I am myself - I usually have a quick look over the engine bay before any journeys and I do carry an extingusher in the car but I have no experience of tackling anything like the situation in the video.

I've always wondered how effective a small automotive fire extinguisher would be in the engine bay of a Delorean with a fuel fed fire.

As you say, depends on how quick its caught.

I think "Or What"

Something very fishy Considering the guy's audio on the film you never hear such lines as..

" My car, my car"
"OMG"
"Hey-alp, somebody Hey-alp" (in best Penelope Pitstop fashion)
"Come on, come on" (about the fire engine being delayed)
or any profanity at all?

etc etc.

Not the normal response when your £1/2 million pound cars on fire :?

As for the film, we don't know how far in it starts but from the still picture here:

There's a Citroen, thats not in the film, the driver walking in front of the car having got out, but no attempt to put out the fire?
I'd say in the still picture, you'd have had a good chance at extinguishing it had you tried instead of wasting time going to talk to your mate in the Ferrari.

Ummmm... I'm with Nick on this one ..

Just watched the vid again Darren you are right .. not the panic you would expect nor any urgency to put out the flames ..

God knows why he would film it .. the insurance company will get to see this

Personally, I liked where his mate said "I'll move the Ferrari" and not "I'll move my car"

Did the fact that the vid started in a showroom perhaps imply that it was a dealership of some sort?

Well the video was made by a "group" called "Tax The Rich":

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TaxTheRich100
Twatter: https://twitter.com/TaxTheRich100
YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TaxTheRich100/videos
YouTube "outtakes": http://www.youtube.com/user/SaveTheRich100 (Where this video is)

Basically "they" make supercar videos it seems. This was going to be one, but then it caught fire. Looking at the videos in the Youtube channel, it would appear to be a bloke with a lot of land, money and cars! 8-)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ondon.html
Apparently "linked to the family of Jon Hunt, the former boss of estate agency Foxtons."

Self-researched rumours from the internet:
"its my sister's boss's car.... His son had just taken it to a garage for a service as he was planning on giving it some stick to make a video and 500 yds from the garage their Lambo set on fire...."

So, in summary, the driver was the son of Jon Hunt

As researched previously here:

(Although obviously he denies it, in order to maintain his anonymity)

Harry Hunt:

I'd guess the "showroom" was either the Hunts' garage, or the garage that had just serviced the car.
The man in the still picture Darren posted is Harry, and is gesturing to the Citroen to move out of the way - the Ferrari driver has got out of his car at this point and is stood with the others near the car.
The first words in the video are ".....get to it soon" (presumably referring to the Fire Engine?).
"I'd better move the Ferrari" - I'm guessing either it's the father saying it to the son, or alternatively it's another "non-owner" (brother/friend etc.), either way "My Ferrari" not relevant.
Lots of cuts in the video, probably either bad language, or crying or generally "not being cool", not fitting in with the "Loadsamoney" ethos of the other videos.
With £660 million in the bank and 100 cars (minus the £20m Ferrari he's just sold), I'm not sure I'd care too much either!
