Mobile Phone Recomendations

Postby Dan 6511 » Mon Jun 22, 2009 5:32 pm

Can anyone recommend any decent mobile phones? My poor old K810 is rather abused and I can hardly hear anyone talking on it so its time to get a new contract now I'm working again.

I have been looking at a Nokia 5800. I found that for 35 a month including 3gb a month internet, and I can plug it into my laptop to use mobile internet. Does anyone have one of these and are they any good?

I know tyson will recommend iphone but they are a bit too pricey to get bashed about and dropped.

I lost my phone on the weekend and have just ordered an iPhone... inevitable for me at some point really anyway.

iPhone every time. It does everything - video files, full webpages, VNC (remote control your desktop computer from anywhere), and all so easy to use - it's like a mini laptop. I've had the original version for 18 months now and have taken delivery today - only 3 hours ago - of the new one with 32gb storage. My old one doesn't have a scratch on it, and is well used.

I'd love an iphone but £275 to buy the phone, then 35 a month for 18 months is rather a lot just for a phone. It still doesn't have enough storage to replace my ipod.

You don't need to pay £275. I'm getting one of the new 3GS ones (16GB) for £87 with £35/month contract. Not too bad... (although to be fair it is a 24 month contract)

FWIW I have a Nokia N85 now ... and love it

Ive had lots of other 'makes' of phones but finally came back to Nokia this time because of the software and the logic behind the user interface.

Did have an LG viewty touch phone , supposed to be like an Iphone.... what a pile o poo it was ....

iPhone everytime.

I have the original 2G one and it's still the best phone I have ever had. Just upgraded the misses from a LG Viewty, Utter Utter crap, to the new iPhone 3GS and it is fast !

That's ironic really, because I would upgrade my missus to an iPhone !!!
