Tonight I managed to strip down, clean and prep the inner wings with a couple of coats of Rust Bullet. Tomorrow will see a coat of 'Top Black' to get things looking stock again.

I've been avoiding it but can no longer, this weekend looks like I'm going to be flat of my back cleaning the chassis :(

This is a great thread. Please keep posting lots of photos. How many SV-1's are in Europe?

Do all Bricklins have power assisted door opening and closing?

There's a handful, about 10 cars that I know off. In the UK there's another 2 confirmed and both are in museums.

Yes all SV1's have power doors, originally using an hydraulic system however a common upgrade is to change this over to pneumatic.

Just popped her up on axle stands to begin cleaning the front end. Decided to remove the front springs/shocks to gain better access to the inner towers however the springs, the coils of which are about as think as my thumb! are simply too much for my poor old compressors. Bit of a re-think needed me thinks.

I have always fancied a set of these -->

But battled on with my lethal crap normal ones last time I had the springs off the D.

However, you'd be a bit miffed if they didn't fit having shelled out....

Just a thought, loving the thread,

Lol, an unconscious fuckwit I'd guess :D

D springs nah they're made from paper clips by comparison. You got to remember these bad boys have to support not only the tractor style frame but also that hulking great cast iron V8 sitting up front. I've read that an undressed AMC 360 weighs over 600Lbs!

Spent my night wire brushing/de-greasing the wheel wells, now I'm cold itchy and p'eed off!
