This is the Woods Electric. It is the only one remaining, from a company that produced very fine cars at the turn of the century in Chicago. New, this car cost $3000 - a princely sum in 1905 (the Silver Ghosts pictured earlier in this thread were around 800 pounds (chassis only). The Woods company went on to produce hybrids in about 1910. We have not come very far since.

Welcome Danni,

The Woods Electric looks fantastic, you need to bring it over the pond for the London to Brighton (although its too new officially) ;) I'm sure you'd be very welcome.

Al; you bought an i3.........oh dear

Darren

Thanks for the welcome.

The pictures of me and the Woods were taken just a few weeks ago when I was over there for the London to Brighton run in my 1902 Delahaye. It was the first time I had seen the Woods as I had it shipped from Denmark (where I bought it) to the UK in order to ship the 2 cars back to the US together. So today they have both boarded the ship and should be home in a few weeks :)

Small World then as I always attend the London to Brighton. I most probably saw you and the car without knowing!
Fantastic weather we had this year too.

Good luck with the cars when they return home, and let us know if you're over in 2016!

In the meantime, I'm sure you need to get a Delorean for that fine collection ;)

Kind regards
Darren

I'm over there every year for the London to Brighton run. It's the best motoring event there is.

OK, so I need to start looking more seriously at DeLorean!

And so you know who to look for, here we are crossing in front of the Palace in this year's thick fog.

I guess it's time to go shopping again..... ;)

Thanks for Sharing Dermot :D

You've "id" the cars very well already. Love the tenuous link to the 1935 car that Royce worked on, probably took 6 weeks to build at Nightingdale road (but he died in 33) nothing like big-ing up your car ;)

The 2nd experimental I believe is owned by Matti Schumacher in Switzerland.

I got up at 3:30am this morning to go meet Danni and his 1902 Delahaye in Hyde Park. We'd exchanged a couple of emails and we'd got an opportunity to eventually meet up this year at the London to Brighton. :D
Danni was a true gent and we talked about cars and stuff before he set off for Brighton and I drove down to see him cross the finish line. The Delahaye had been shipped over especially from Atlanta. The car was absolutely fabulous, and looked stunning! Well done!

We had another good chat on the sea front which made a great day out even better. :D
