Don't forget that CryptoWall can lay dormant for months until somthing triggers it, by which time your backup system could also have been infected.

Our work computer system was hit in September, it was a serious problem, the virus had lay dormant for about 8weeks before being triggered by a random website visit. We were completely without computers for 48hours and over 5 days until all was well.

A modern day office without a single PC, web access email web order processing 48hours is a long time.

Sounds old school, but the best defence for photos is print them off, it's cheap as chips these days.
