Can you see the rim of that planet? And they say there's no water... pfffff.

here's my attempts, a bit of a rush job as i thought it was tomorrow, it's strange when you really zoom in and see the moon and mars actually moving, i forget we're hurtling through the universe

OK - you win Tommy! 8-)

I forgot about that - and just thought it was a wobbly tripod. So I ditched the 30 second f29 bulb shots and did a 2 second one in the end. You still beat me somehow - probably cos you're closer "up there" :D

I know what you mean, i wondered why they were all blurry at first, :P knock the iso down a bit, and close the aperture quite a lot, manual focus put the shutter release on 2 second delay so when you click it doesn't shake the camera, oh and iphoto works a treat ;)

EXIF file data
Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Exposure: 13 seconds
Aperture: f/22.0
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

I only "won" because we can't afford street lights 'oop narf. i'm sure you could pull a few strings and kill the whole grid down there to get a really good photograph ;)

Ahh - well I went the opposite way. I was getting serious planetary movement at +10 secs, so my best one was:

Self Timer, manual focus: Yes of course
Camera: Canon EOS 450D - yes!
Exposure: 0.6 secs
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 1600
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

I have knocked out the street lights on 3 occasions before actually! ;) (helium balloon across power lines, wet St. Georges flag across same power lines, missile attak at street light fitting) but I think the neighbours are a bit fed up of me by now, cos it takes out all the power in Old Hunstanton too. :?
