I think Al may have suggested a rolling road a while ago to diagnose this particular problem?
Just re-taxed her so she'll be making an appearance at the mini meet in a few weeks anyway!

Can you tell if it comes out of your exhaust pipes?
It might be the vac modulator that has broken and is sucking the auto transmision fluid into the engine via the inlet manifold.
You could disconnect the vac pipe to the modulator and plug it to see if it stops the smoke.
If it does then this is definately the fault !
I haven't done one on the D but they usually just unbolt from the main auto box.
