Just an idea, and I spoke to Tony about this, would it be better if we held next years Eurotech the weekend after Eurofest??? Only that anybody who is going to Eurofest especially from abroad, seeing as they are in the vicinity i.e. the U.K. might come to us afterwards, whereas it being a month a part might not attract so many of our foreign cousin's and enthusiasts if they need to come back for our event due to financial or holiday entitlement reasons??? I would imagine that ken koncelik and his family would be attending Eurofest as well as Suzzy and her brother Josh, if Ken was to come to one of our functions, and usually their is an entourage of enthusiasts that follow him as well??? Maybe the best person to ask is Suzzy about visiting the U.K. twice in 4 weeks, actually Dan would probably keep her in a hotel in between events, so maybe that wasn't such a good example!!!

Whilst I agree having another event one weekend after Eurofest might not be a bad idea, unfortunately it won't be at my hotel. I'm fully booked then. Whilst that doesn't stop you looking elsewhere I would suggest that it is a bit short notice if you are looking for a similar sort of thing, i.e. a whole hotel of a reasonable size. Plus you would need someone to organise it - no easy task.
My hotel is full or nearly full for the three weekends after Eurofest, as well as the two weekends before, which is why the "EuroTec" event (this thread) is being held when it is - i.e. without moving the event to a different location, changing the dates are not an option. Contrary to popular belief I don't rely on car clubs as my only source of customers!

I agree that it will probably mean less "people who live further away" will come this year, but there's always 2012! Eurofest was always going to get the big numbers in 2011, and I'm quite looking forward to seeing if Tony will actually make it off the island!

Having said all that, we currently at over 60 people already officially booked, with 24+ cars, which for 10 months before is quite a record in fact, so it certainly doesn't bother everyone! - if anything this could well be the busiest one yet.

I and several others believe there is no better hotel to hold our annual 'main' event, rooms and food excellent, we get the whole place to ourselves, we can erect marquees, rev engines, leak oil etc... And the bar shuts when the last person leaves, plus the bar prices are comparable with any other hotel and indeed are CHEAPER than my local 100 yds away!!

Tried and tested *a hotel* wins everytime for me, unless you can prove me otherwise!!

I was just thinking maybe it would be better if we'd declare a season-tec which basically goes from 1st of april to 30th of september where anything goes, no specific location, people coming round and such...

Sounds cool to me. So 100 people will just descend on your house at some point next year Rob. Just make sure you stock up on cakes, just in case!
