Here is the official thread for GezTec 2010.

Provisionally the date is Saturday 25th September - however we could do Sunday 26th if it suits people better.

GezTec 2010 will take place in Gosfield, Essex (CO9 1PR) and will involve:
1) Removing 1 x B28F DeLorean engine
2) Installing 1 x B28E Volvo engine with reprofiled cams
3) Depending on weather - swimming breaks & beer, or tea breaks & biscuits

Provisional attendees are:
Me
Dan
Al
TT
Chris
+any others are welcome!

Lunch / Dinner (sandwiches/takeaway) will be on me as a thank you.

So far I have ordered new engine mounts and a clutch kit, and I've spoken to Nick T about options for servicing the new engine on the way in. TT, do you have some head gasket bits we could possibly use to freshen up the motor? I will chuck you some dollar for them!

I'm going to be speaking to Kent Cams on Monday about the reprofiled cams and whether they can send me a new set or I need to extract the old set (more likely). Also whether they have new rockers to flog or they can refurbish my old ones.

There's going to need to be some prep work on the new engine (inserting cams, potentially changing head gasket bits) so depending on how things pan out we'll either have two teams on the day, one team extracting old engine whilst another prep new engine, or I'll try and get the prep work done in advance. Depending on what people think of the amount of work required, we could even split GezTec across two days, prep on Saturday, full swap Sunday...

Any thoughts or advice on this project, fire away...!

I don't think I would bother refurbing rockers or changing head gaskets with that low millage. If your not carefull you'll end up doing a full rebuild ;)

If you start doing head gaskets and stuff Gez it will never get fitted in a day, also rewiring rebooting ancillaries all takes longer than expected

Um, no... Spark plugs are new last year, HT leads new at Eurotec 2009, dis cap and rotor are off the Volvo engine itself so won't these D bits not be correct?

Plugs and leads should be OK just to carry over shouldn't they, given that they're new(ish)?

Re new rockers/gasket antics, am only asking based on the grand master admin bloke's advice! :D
