Thought I would give this it's own topic in case it is lost in the main Eurofest thread. I have negotiated a discount for those travelling from Holyhead to Dublin/Dun Laoghaire. See below for the deal and how to use it.

If anyone is travelling from Stranraer to Belfast the Dutch Owners Club have a discount for that journey. You will need to book this month for the Stranraer discount.

26-30 May (so yes Monday is included)

Car plus 2 passengers

Stena Adventurer £95 single
Stena HSS and Stena Nordica £110 single

To make a reservation and avail of the special rates, those travelling simply log on to http://www.stenaline.co.uk/specialevent and enter their first name, surname and event number which is EK387 (code is case sensitive).

Good idea Matt. I have locked this thread so that it stays simple. Please post all Eurofest stuff in the main thread: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=600 - and I will keep this one up to date. If you book a ferry please let me know or post it in the above thread. Likewise if you have any comments about the names mentioned in this thread, or if I've missed anyone.

I am talking about Holyhead only. Essentially there are three ferries in total - going out we are all on the same one, and coming back the times are the same, but the days different. The total return price for 2 plus car is £205

Going out (to Dublin):
26 / May / 2011 - Adventurer: dep. 13.50 - arr. 17.05 (must check in 45 minutes before)

BOOKED (12 cars): Arran, Carl, Alan, Dan, Tyson, JRG, Alistair, Mec, Tom R, Rich O, Pete, Gez

Coming Back (from Dun Laoghaire):
Sun 29 / May / 2011 - HSS Explorer: dep. 13:15 - arr. 15:14 (must check in 60 minutes before)
BOOKED (9 cars): Arran, Tyson, Alistair, Mec, Tom R, Rich O, Pete, Gez, Carl

Mon 30 / May / 2011 - HSS Explorer: dep. 13:15 - arr. 15:14 (must check in 60 minutes before)
BOOKED (4 cars): Alan, Dan, JRG, Chris Bale

Liverpool to Belfast route: Kevin, Julian, Malc

Ferry - not sure which one, but defo not with us on the way out: Rich J
Holyhead ferry on the Wednesday, but coming back with us: Chris Bale

Flying: Admin-bloke, Bozzzy, Tony, Jason, Aaron, Chris Sp

Obviously for the purposes of this thread, I am only referring to people who are travelling from the mainland UK at this stage. If anyone is planning on travelling through the UK (from Europe) and via the Holyhead route then please let me know.

For the 12 cars on the Holyhead ferry on the way out on the Thursday this is the final plan.

All times listed are DEPARTURE times. 12 cars in the convoy, and 12 cars on that ferry:

Leaving home (at the latest!):

5.30am Pete
5.30am Arran
5.30am Carl
5.30am JRG
5.45am Mec
5.45am Rich O
5.50am Alistair
6.00am Tom R
6.00am Alan
6.00am Dan
6.45am Tyson
9.45am!! Gez

6.30am Birchanger Green Services:
Dan
Mec
Rich O
Al
JRG

6.45am Eastrea:
Arran
Tyson
Carl

7.45am the Little Chef near Kettering, between junctions 9 and 8:
Dan
Mec
Rich O
Al
JRG

meeting

Arran
Tyson
Carl

and

Pete

and

Alan

Then, after the M54 we exit at Junction 3, and straight away pull into the Bell Inn car park / Esso Garage at TF11 8PS at 9.15 and pick up:
Tom R

Then, at 10.00 at the Esso Garage on the A41/A525 roundabout we pick up:
Gez

That should get us there for 12.15, which is 1 hour 35 minutes before the boat goes.

Confirming that I will be providing radios to everyone in Kettering for ease of communication. I have 26 identical walkie-talkies, so you'll be fine! :D

Tom R times confirmed, along with Gez's changes, so this is pretty much final. 12 cars on the convoy (10 of which are on the England part of the convoy, from Kettering to Telford).

Main Eurofest thread here: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=600

Next job is to decide on the way out of Dublin, and if we're going to meet anyone on the other side, before Belfast.

A reminder to all of you that you are very unlikely to be covered by your breakdown insurance (if you have any!) for most of the journey on the other side (in the Republic of Ireland) - you will (usually) need to take out European breakdown cover to cover this part of the journey. The RAC for example do a special "Republic Of Ireland" policy for £45.60 to cover the whole weekend (i.e. the trip both ways) - if you feel that breakdown cover is really necessary for 3 hours in total of driving!

Actually I was saying you may have a problem getting the D through customs in the airport. "You have any luggage sir?" / "Yes, 1280 Kg of it".

Slight change of plan and looking highly likely now that me and Pete F will join at the Kettering stop.
