Hello
My Dad, Francis, has a 'fly in' on his small grass airstrip in Essex every year, where people with microlights and light aircraft fly in for a big barbecue and then fly away again. This year it's going to be more interesting because my brother has finished building his Spitfire and will be flying it in. It's called the Spitfire Mk26, and it's an 80% scale two-seat aluminium Spitfire with a six cylinder engine. If you're about 5 foot tall and stand next to it, it looks just like the real thing. It sounds good too. Details here: http://www.supermarineaircraft.com/MK2680.htm
My brother rebuilds real Spitfires for a living - he was featured in 'Massive Machines' on Channel 5 recently (he's the one they call 'Mo') - you can see that here: http://www.channel5.com/shows/monster-m ... sode-2-333 So, that's where all the practical genes went in my family.
As some of you are pretty local, Dad and I thought that you and your DeLoreans might want to come down and join us. It's on Sunday August 28th from about 2pm, near Wethersfield in Essex. Let me know if you're interested and I'll tell you how to get there.
Cheerio,
Rich.
