I remember the summer of 76, I was 11, we'd sneaked in and watched Jaws at the local flea pit, then went on a camping holiday to Weymouth with the scouts and refused to go in the sea.

I saw the newly launched Rover SDI and thought it was AMAZING, nothing like our Ford Anglia. Raleigh Tomahawk's, monkey boots, talking action men (pull string) with Palitoy tanks. Tonka toys and space hoppers. Staying up late on saturday night to watch Starsky & Hutch at 9pm.

Has it really been that long, seems like yesterday.

Went the way of sweet cigarettes....first the red ends went and they got called candy sticks then disappeared altogether.

I used to buy loads of em, just to collect the cigarette cards they had inside. I still have the full set of Sweet cigarette "Space 1999" picture cards in a box in the loft.

And what about UFO with Commander Straker & his weird car. Seem to remember that having gull wing doors I rekon. I also read an article once that said DLT off radio 1 had bought it when the series ended
