Let me ask an awkward question for those that were at it - why was there a BTTF car as a central display at the Culloden?

Nothing against BTTF cars, whether it be Keith's or even if they had brought the A car over from Universal, but I thought the whole point of the weekend was about the employees reunion, reliving those short few months in 1981-82, factory tour, endurance route, UFTM etc. I understand its role in the enduring popularity and a BTTF display in the display area would have been appropriate along with other items like the QUB EV, but it struck me as odd that it was front and centre

Having 513 there was perfect, and possibly bookending it with the last VIN in the UK, whichever that one would have been, alpha and omega so to speak.

I don't mean to nitpick what was obviously a fantastic weekend (perhaps it is just jealousy that I wasn't there), but it struck me as odd..

I don't think much thought went in to it, just Tom had one and he/we said to Barrie he could come in it - I presume it was the same with Keith's. There were 2 BTTF cars there (one outside as a display, one inside on display). For many of us BTTF is the reason we bought the car - myself included, so I suppose you could say it has some significance. That and many of the employees have maybe seen 9000 or so "normal" ones but have probably never seen a BTTF one (or a red or a black one - both there too). Not surprisingly the BTTF cars got the most attention.
May be a controversial comment, but if it wasn't for that bloody film would DeLorean now just be thought of as another failed car company...? (generally speaking)

Same here, I first became aware of the car because of BTTF and that's why I eventually bought one. However, the historical interest both in the car and the company fascinates me more than the films now. Don't get me wrong, without the films the car wouldn't be anywhere near as famous and perhaps not as instantly recognisable to most people as it is today. Therefore, BTTF comes as part and parcel of owning a DeLorean and anyway who doesn't love being asked where your flux capacitor is every-time you go to fill up?!...

Just me then... :shifty:

Vin 513 had to be pushed in as its not running at the moment, I think the Culloden were also advertising the fact that there was a BTTF car on permanent display that weekend (outside).
Given that is rarer to see a BTTF DeLorean than a stock one , I think that's partly the reason.

Lot of highlights and I have more pictures to upload so bear with me.
Montupet allowed unprecedented access to the factory floor, the tour went on for some two hours or more
They had also placed some photos around the tour on the walls etc...

Plus each group had a former DMC worker in to help point out what used to be what.

A lot of the staff came out for the test track run and they have real enthusiasm for the car and what was achieved there.
Touching moment when at the start of the reunion dinner a montage of names appeared on the screen for those who were no longer with us,'emotions were running high on more than one table.

Joe Murray was on excellent form, as was Dick Mulholland and George Crane, Neal Barclay throughout the weekend.

Great to see Ken Koncelik, Rob Grady, Stephen Wynne and James Espey had flown in.

The Irish guys made a very impressive turnout I think there were 24 at the Cultra.

More to follow when I have some sleep first!

It's surprising how a lot of the Delorean management and tech team got themselves involved in this project that suffered the same I'll fate.

I was fortunate to be at this event and thought it was fantastic. Credit due to Barry Wills, David Adams and anyone else involved in making this happen...I've memories that will last forever!!

It was great fun catching up with the old faces and meeting up with some new ones, best bit for me was taking my car around the test track for the first time!
