Overhauled Carls original auto computer and shall bring it along. This has new transistors, generator capacitors, op amp capacitors and solenoid diodes (big heavy duty ones).
I won't fit it as my back is not up to it.
Carl, one of the transistors that operates the solenoids was blown. If the one on your car had the same blown transistor then you may have a partially shorted one. It might be worth measuring the resistance of them both to check as a start.

This is fantastic, thank you so much Mr. T! I had no idea you were fixing this, so was pleasantly surprised when you messaged me!
Seems like this may be a doable job at the weekend. I've already conversed with MEC, who has kindly offered to be the hired muscle again. If the mighty auto experts can be on standby with any technical advice, that would be great!
I'll put a list together and make sure I have all of the usual kit, but ramps especially! Then the plan is to drain the fluid on Friday night, leave it overnight and fit the new computer on Saturday.
Question, will the gasket for the sump be ok to re-use, seeing as it was only installed last year? Or does this depend on if sealer was used?
And there I was thinking I wasn't going to reap this weekend...
