Ok, so, I am just going to ‘bounce’ this as a few of us were talking about it over the weekend in Norfolk and since then.

I am thinking that it’s getting near the time that anyone who is going ought to be looking at booking their hotel and ferry/flight (if they haven’t already)

Has anyone else booked this or decided when/how they are getting there?

I haven't booked anything as yet as i want to see if my car comes together a bit more 1st, as soon as i get the body back on il be looking at booking stuff, might be a bit last minute but thats how I roll

I am thinking we should probably follow the route put forward by Al earlier in this thread i.e. Wed 25 overnight from Harwich to Hook of Holland and then back again on the Sunday. However availability I think is low so we would need to book soon. However I need to ensure I get some work done before I'll be confident of taking my car abroad. I'm awaiting to learn when this work can get done (e.g. transmission leak).

I'm in the same boat as mec, I need to see the status of my car re-assembly before committing to book.
If the ferry's are all gone by that time then theres always the tunnel option, that always has space.

We we discussing this at the weekend and came to the conclusion that the tunnel may be a better option, more of a road trip than sitting on a ferry for 8 hours

Yes, my thoughts were something like go via the tunnel on the Wednesday, leaving at a reasonable time i.e. 11am sort of time from home. Then stay in Amsterdam on the Wednesday night. Get to the event on Thursday early afternoon. There for 3 nights from the Thursday, then leave early Sunday morning and do it in one on the way back. The idea being that it was better to have a night in Amsterdam, than a night on a ferry.

I would very much love to do this and i vote the tunnel route/night in amsterdam, however i need to see the status of my car also. Due to land next week and then ive got the process of getting her through an MOT/road legal etc. All very do-able but i need some confidence of 5219 being as reliable as possible

Events .Can we have dates for June meet if any to plan time away to include Hamburg if trying to do both?

Yes, I am working on it... all I know at the moment is that it definitely won't be the 21st weekend. Give me about 7 days and I should have it all worked out and posted up.
