Well made it home in about an hour, much better than the journey to the meet.

On the way home I heard a clattering sound from drivers wheel arch area that I wasn’t used to. Then 2 miles from home my speedo needle had a fit and the gave up the ghost.

I presume my angle drive must have gone!

What do you think? Is this a job you reckon even I could do?

Any help and tips to confirm diagnosis and to repair gratefully received.

No worries Al. We still have julys one.

GDTDMC12... the angle drive is fairly simple to do but requires a 32mm spanner for the hub nut. With angle drives it could be one of three things. 1) the drive itself (which if its one of deuropes is likely), 2) the metal spool that runs from the drive and through the wheel or 3) the dust cap the spool sits in.

Jack the front up, take off the drivers side wheel and youll be able to look at everything.

Actually before you do that, turn the wheel to full lock and have a look. Mine failed about a month ago and the angle drive just split in 2. Since its innards have fallen out, i had no choice but to replace the damn thing
