Nice one John, it was 'chuffing' like a train, so that good, nothing terminal!

Hi lads,

Delighted to say that my car is back on the road!

:D :D :D

The number 2 cylinder sparkplug thread had failed, shooting the sparkplug up and out of the engine, hence the bang, cloud of smoke, lack of power and very loud noises when it was idling with the spark plug out of the engine.

The local mechanic took a look at it while I was at work today, fitted a helicoil and she's running like a clock again! Wohoo!

Thanks again to all who helped out over the weekend,

John

nice one !!!!! It sounded a lot worse...

Lads - photos of the trip to Ireland look great. Good weather too. I plan on taking my D home to Dublin for a holiday next year when my son is old enough to endure the journey as co-pilot.
My dad (who's orginally from Belfast) was over in England last weekend and he got to drive in the car for the first time and the feckin drivers door got stuck closed.....so much for a good first driving impression.

No I must get on with that. It shouldn't take long to quickly run through it and upload to this site, but a little longer to break it down into small sections for you tube. I'll try to get it up before the weekend. ;)
