OK - I have run the numbers:

Either way we will pass through Zeebrugge or near enough. Zeebrugge or Hook of Holland to Luxembourg is about 220 miles

Calais to Zeebrugge is 80 miles

Norwich to Harwich is 70 miles
Norwich to the tunnel is 170 miles

Skipton to the tunnel is 300 miles
Skipton to Hull is 90 miles

Me to Harwich is 110 miles
Me to tunnel is 180 miles

So for Tom and Sally it is 310 miles of driving to go on the Hull ferry, or 600 miles of driving to go via the tunnel.
For Peter it is 290 miles on the ferry from Harwich or 470 miles through the tunnel
For me it is 330 miles on the ferry or 480 miles on the tunnel

Harwich ferry is about £200 total return with two people and one car. Hull is about £240. The tunnel is about £90.

yes Arran wed night thought we could get there what ever time we want then all go in the pub (table table resturant) and spend the night in there then get a early train in the morning.
we dont have to but when i done the rally last year we done the same sort of thing and had a great time the night before we kicked off.

I might go to this.....depends on ££ cos I'll be back home in Dublin during August.

Ahh Luxembourg....I used to live there a few years ago. The countryside is nice and the roads are great. The place is filthy rich. Just watch out for Sundays...because nothing is open. Many a Sunday morning I woke up with a hangover only to find I couldn't get any paracetamol because the shops were closed.

OK - got my warning letter from Ed this morning. I guess we need to "action" this people! :D

Here is the proposed route:

Image

See my post on the top of this current page for differences between train and ferry ^^^^

I am easy either way. The chances of my car doing 1000 miles in one week is so unlikely that I am just "going through the motions" anyway! - but I am assuming tunnel and overnight in Folkestone with Tyson and possee - makes for a a nice break en-route. I would meet Tyson in Cambridge - so up to Pete what you want to do - happy to "boat it" too.

Correct me if I am wrong, but: (I am only talking about the UK people here of course)

Flying:
Kev maybe
Glen maybe
Neal maybe

Driving:
Me
Al
Pete
Tony
Tyson+Maria

Unknown:
Tom
Sally
Mec
JRG+Jane
Jason
Bozzzy

Malc+Gaye???

As soon as I know I'm not the only one going I will book the event here: http://www.delorean.eu/catalog/product_ ... _id=168044

All you have to do is pay 136 Euros now and email Ed with whether you want a single, double, or twin room. This payment covers the event and all food. Then on departure you just pay the hotel bill - either 196 Euros for a single, or 160 Euros PER PERSON for a double/twin. The itiniary is here: http://www.delorean.eu/events/

Obviously after this we'd need to book the tunnel/ferry etc, and check your insurance and breakdown policy. I feel that if we leave this much longer then we will be camping!
