FOR SALE (AGAIN!): Galvanised Chassis

Postby dmcjohn » Wed May 19, 2010 11:53 am

Restored frame - galvanised and powdercoated. Galvanised by Ed Uding, and powdercoated in Ireland.

The frame is in perfect condition, and has not been fitted to a car since restoration. It is an auto-frame, but can easily be adapted to suit a manual car. Including fuel tank closing plate also powdercoated to the same colour.

Price - 3000 GBP or best offer!

Did the frame sell to the buyer of the black car by any chance?

For some reason the auction ended half hour early and I had serious intentions of having that, I was gonna offer good money as well, So If I could persuade the seller with a £1000 incentive??? I'll be honest I am not happy it ended early!!!

Yes I noticed that too J

Noticed someone had offered £1400 in one of all the bids that were 'cancelled'

I'm glad you told me that, I was going PM the guy. At first I was livid because I thought the guy at made a deal off auction, but maybe he pulled the plug because he wanted more money??? I am very much interested if it is still for sale. I've just belowed at Tony down the phone about it, good old Tone, he's my personnel agony aunt. I've calmed down now, but I've been monitoring it all week and I honestly thought I would bag it, I had it all planned out, I was gonna give me old chassis away!!!!. Oh well, if it's mean't to be, it's mean't to be!!!

You've seen the same thing happened to the car as well?: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=1870
James is here: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=551

My theory was that it was a sort-of "manual reserve", to avoid the "high" fees of putting a multi-thousand-pound reserve on (a £2000 reserve would be £40 in fees). But given that he ended it with 30 minutes to go (is that correct?) then maybe not. Usually you get nearly all your bids in the last 5 minutes. I always bid in the last 20 seconds.

Than was my plan, go in at 10secs and steal the auction, maybe your right with the 'manuel reserve'. is it worth 2K????
