OEM Style License Bezel wanted

Postby Deloreanyorkshire » Sun Mar 17, 2013 5:13 pm

Hi

Does any one have a rear licence holder going cheap. I think the part is known as a licenze bezel?.

I know i can get a brand new one for about £100 but just wondered if any one had one hanging around that they want to sell cheap?

thanks
Mike

OK - in the absence of a reply some help.

As you know James had a load made: viewtopic.php?f=98&t=529 - he may know of someone who's recently upgraded who may have an old one? Or he may still have an old one himself?

One thing I noticed a lot in France and Italy is that they all have to have "long" plates at the back, presumably by law. This means many people have upgraded to James's other style of bezel ( viewtopic.php?f=98&t=528 ), and there are hundreds of original bezels lying around the continent. Chris Nicholson (and possibly Dave Howarth) may therefore have some lying around (ask if you need contact details), but it would probably be worth a quick PM to Raphael (France): memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=70 or Paolo (Italy): memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=209 - avid forum users and great translators, who can both probably locate you a bezel on their local forums. European shipping won't be a lot, or - if you can wait until June, about 20 of us are meeting up with Raphael and Paolo in France, along with a bunch of European DeLorean owners with spare bezels ;)

My original rear bezel in hanging in my livingroom on the wall with an OUTATIME-numberplate in it ... :geek:

Maybe others have done something similar?

Not a bad idea, I'd put it up as is without the number plate

Hi,

As Arran mentioned I often have these made, I have a couple of people after them so I probably need to get a batch produced at some point which means the price can be tweaked.

Depends if you're in a rush, I've sold many euro ones to France, Germany etc... Over the years so there must be a loads of oem ones knocking around somewhere.

Would OEM not be, by definition, the US version?

So is OEM Style, a euro one in the style of the original?

I'm not sure what type Paul had on this car.
