Already 6 units sold in 24 hours. :D

If you like to have one of these clocks, don't wait too long! The pre-ordering will end in a few weeks, as I will need to start putting out parts orders quickly. If you have any questions, just let me know.

I've also added a roadmap for you to see how far I've come and what still needs to be done: DeClock Roadmap

Rob, this has clearly been a labour of love! Really like the extra functions such as 24 hr clock, dim with headlights and the temperature sensors for interior and exterior and on top of that an accurate time piece with a built in battery backup. Nice 8-)

Question I have is.... I'm happy to retire my original working clock for this but really like how my existing rheotstat dims the binnacle lighting. Have I missed something, would this functionality be lost with the replacement rheostat?

Chris, dont worry, the clock provides a new way to dim your dashboard! It uses a PWM driver so it'll even dim your LEDs.

My interior is 100% original lighting i.e. incandescent bulbs (I prefer the glow and warn colour over LED's).

Will it handle the current for the stock binnacle bulbs okay and dim them just as well as the stock rheostat did?

If so, I'll be 'clicking' buy for a green one :)

Yup. It'll handle the stock binnacle bulbs just fine. Last month (before my LED's arrived) I was still using bulbs in the binnacle and it worked great. The used component is rated for 800 mA, so you should be safe for the 4 lights in the binnacle.

For comparison though, the SuperbrightLed's 191 bulb only draws 0.01A (10mA).

Thanks for ordering, Chris. I can't wait to get started on building these.

I've upgraded the component to 1.2A absolute maximum current, which gives an extra 50% headroom.
