Some of you may remember that, in 2009, some italian guys imported a delorean from UK (VIN 10396) and then converted it to elettric power.
Such cars was also featured on Wired magazine in 2010, because it went from Milan to Rome to join the movie festival..

Long story short, cars is now getting its "original" (PRV 2.7L) engine back @ Andrea's.
The trouble is that, in order to fit the battery in the trunk, they weren't afraid to cut the fiberglass...

Can I ask - what is the reason for the change of engine? Did the electric engine not live up to expectations? Or never work correctly or something?

Good question Arran.
The point is that I don't know the answer..
Maybe limited range?
I remember that the batteries were pretty low while driving from Bergamo to Andrea's, which is a about 60 miles away..

Seems a shame to me. Something so unique being put back to stock after all that work. Electric /lightning /Delorean should stay that way IMO.
I'm sure there are people who would of run this.
