I was telling you, we had to work on 11611.
This is Marco's car: it had a frame off in 2009 in order to fix the rust on the frame and so on.

First, we had a look at what happened to Andrea's 2.5 T

and at the new 3.0T

Image

Time to work!
Job1: 11611 has huge alignment issues.
There are no more available threads in order to close the alignment, and so the tires are completely worn out in the inner side
We have to solve this trouble: every way is allowed..
Start time: 10H30 AM

Do you really think that it's easy to remove a steering wheel?
No, it isn't.

Job2 (description following) started at the same time

Image

When nuts are blocked, we must unfreeze them!
Way 1: fire.. no way!

Image

Image

Way 2: saw, hammer and chisel.. no way!

Image

Image

Déjà-vu?

Image

Way 3: angle grinder.. ok!

War trophy!

After the test drive, we can go on.

Job 2: catalyst removal and fitting of the home made "Africa pipe".
Are you asking yourself why is it named "Africa pipe"?
That's why!

Image

I assume that everybody, me included and I just took the pictures, has cursed the "home made" philosopy!

Start time: 4:00 PM
Estimated end time: unluckily, such estimate has not been performed!
We lifted the car on wood blocks in order to have much more space underneath.

Image

Image

Andrea removed the catalyst quite easily

Image

The biggest trouble now is fitting the stock exhaust together with the home made "Africa pipe", by cutting, welding, .. and the darkness finally arrived..

Image

End time: 9:30 PM!

But we had a lot of fun!
