Some have a way with the ladies, some have a way with a Mig Shroud and some molten steel.... timing, distance and building the pool babeh !

All tacked on

Finishing touches

Loving the attention to detail, I assume the ripples were left over from the original moulds and serve little purpose but are distinct so its nice to have them back.

One step closer.....

I have a decision to make, I have no issues with the clutch, Reverse is occasionally in need of a double shift but I believe that's fairly normal. Is it worth me doing whilst the engine is out ? I am not planning to but wanted to check the view. 56k miles.

Clutch Kit, seal and bearing ? north of £250 already :(

Top work by Alex as always!

Re the clutch and rear main seal/bearing, if it was me I would change them while the engine/box are out and be done with it.

Thanks Mike, I will debate it... Its a lot of money coming in at £350, but that includes both cylinders and whilst they don't leak now I have done 100 miles in 3 years so once I start getting more miles on I can expect problems.

Whilst £350 is a lot the hours it will save are even more horrendous....

I am tempted to go SPAX Yellow for the chassis :)

Lovely work by Alex as usual, the strips that he has replaced in the dog bone are rock sliders as this is the lowest part of the chassis on the rear end    mine have already come into play on my first journey back from norfolk

Its beginning to come together.

I am so impressed with the neatness of it...I know if you take a car to a day to day mechanic they cut it out and fit a patch in at best, at worst they just weld a patch over it. Alex is really going back to basics to work out how far back to replace to ensure strength is there.

I think its been a challenge for him, in different ways than other ones he has worked on.

LOL thanks :) I think I have finished my yellow period.

Alex has been busy again.

Turret before

Image

After

Image

Strengthening has been added as well.

Back end now welded and looking straight. I always thought the curve I had on it before was normal.

Image

Loving the quality of his welding.

Image

So what next........... Well for the penultimate job keeping in mind the last is galv and powder coating.

The front extensions.

Image

which will eventually replace.

Image

I have seen the others Alex makes and they look awesome....
